SWU is bringing Rage Against the Machine to South America for the first time! - RATM is one of the most popular bands worldwide and for their very first visit to South America they have chosen to come to Brazil! They will be the headline band in the SWU Music and Art Festival on October 9. South American fans of this iconic band of the 90's have been waiting for this moment since 1992 when the band released their first hit, "Killing in the Name". RATM may have had an unfortunate split in the year 2000, but to their fans' surprise and delight the band got back together in 2007 for the Coachella Festival in the US. That concert was epic, they were the main attracting, having sold out their tickets in record time! RATM was one of the most influential band of the 90's with the trademark vocals performed by Zack de La Rocha and the legendary sounds from Tom Morello's guitar. Other band members include Tim Commerford on the bass and Brad Wilk on the drums. The band was particularly famous for their political engagement and protest-style music managing a remarkable blend of hip-hop, rock, funk, and heavy metal. This campaign propelled the group into their so deserved limelight and allowed them the honor of being backed up by great artists such as Dave Matthews, The Prodigy, and Paul McCartney.
